Cooking with Kids celebrates the generosity of Santa Fe Wine & Chile Fiesta and Los Alamos National Bank! CWK Super Chefs join the festivities!
Cooking with Kids has received a $25,000 donation from Santa Fe Wine & Chile Fiesta, bringing the seven-year total to $125,000. Los Alamos National Bank has also contributed $10,000 annually for the past two years, shared between CWK and SFW&CF. “Cooking with Kids is honored by the faithful and generous support of Santa Fe Wine & Chile Fiesta and Los Alamos National Bank. We are proud and fortunate to be part of Santa Fe’s innovative culinary and business communities,” said CWK Executive Director Lynn Walters. “These donations help bring CWK’s hands-on food education to thousands of public school children each year. Together we are creating a healthy future for Santa Fe!”
This year’s milestone gift was celebrated on April 7, 2015 with a “Big Check Ceremony” at Gonzales Community School. Joining 2nd graders from Deborah Barbe’s cooking class were SFW&CF and CWK Board Members, LANB’s Jillian Bartely and Kate Kennedy, Executive Directors Greg O’Byrne (SFW&CF) and Lynn Walters (CWK), and volunteer CWK Super Chefs. The very successful Super Chef program grew out of CWK’s commitment to connecting schools, children and their families to Northern New Mexico’s vibrant food community. Super Chefs donate their time and talent in cooking classes and inspire a new generation of chefs and healthy eaters.
Thank you Santa Fe Wine & Chile Fiesta and Los Alamos National Bank. Together we are creating a healthy future for Santa Fe!
