From little to BIG: Joshua Pringle

Joshua volunteering at the 2016 Superchef Dinner, CWK’s annual fundraiser

Joshua Pringle participated in Cooking with Kids at Gonzales Community School in Santa Fe, first as an elementary student and later as a middle school mentor.

His passion for cooking was apparent even at such a young age. By the time he was a teenager, he was already making connections in Santa Fe’s culinary community. In 2021, Joshua was accepted to the Culinary Institute of America in New York!

A special feature produced by DocuFilms highlighting Joshua’s journey from CWK to CIA.

Joshua graduates from the Culinary Institute of America this August!

During his time at CIA, Joshua deepened his knowledge of fine and foraged foods and learned culinary techniques to showcase locally-grown and culturally-relevant ingredients. He became passionate about the role that restaurants and food education play in supporting small communities and local food systems, and he is excited to explore new ways of improving and restructuring food systems to better serve small communities.

In anticipation of his graduation from the Culinary Institute of America, Joshua reached out to Cooking with Kids, wanting to give back. This BIG little Banquet is his gift!

Says Joshua, “The broader mission of this effort is to combat food insecurity, increase knowledge of healthy nutritional options, and provide kids with skills that can help them with employment opportunities as they get older.”

Cooking with Kids is honored and proud to be a part of Joshua’s journey, and we are grateful for his commitment to giving back to his community!
